On behalf of our Governors, staff and pupils, I would like to welcome you to Battle Hill Primary School.
As head, I feel privileged to be leading such a wonderful team of staff, who have a shared vision; work tirelessly to provide our children with positive school experiences; meet the needs of every child, providing a safe, secure and stimulating environment and continue to develop the outstanding relationships that exist with our pupils and community.

The children in Reception had a fabulous day celebrating National Hairy toe day! They loved the live zoom call with Greg Botrill who designed Drawing club!A BIG thank you to the 200+ schools and settings who came to the inaugural National Hairy Toe Day earlier - over 6,000 children rejoicing in the joy of it all, but also in themselves and the play that loves them.
It was super emotional seeing so many children desperate to show off their Hairy Toe inventions, from potions to pizza, Lamborghinis to space rockets, boats to noodles, soups to holiday destinations ❤️❤️❤️
The hour of our Time Together was a powerful reminder that childhood has a magic deep inside it, so thank you to all the teachers who brought their children to experience the joy of Hairy Toe Day - for your faith in children, for the comfort in being vulnerable (who knew what was going to happen!) and above all for bringing your Big Play-full Heart to the hour.
Here’s to the rampant joy of the Hairy Toe, and here’s to rejoicing in companionship with liberated childhood.
I’ll see you all again - 30 April 2027 at 10am ready to step into the delicious, nonsensical malevolence of it all once more.
Keep playing; keep hairy toe-ing!!!
