Astro-maths in year 5

On Wednesday, we had a visit from a team from the Life Centre in Newcastle. They brought a planetarium along which we were lucky enough to go inside and look at the stars, planets and constellations, as well as allowing us to take part in some fantastic experiments. We made rockets and launched them from a launch pad to see how far they travelled, depending on the angle they were launched from. We made a graph of our findings. In the afternoon, we measured rocks and conducted experiments to determine whether they were meteorites or earth rocks.
